Office:

Charlottesville, VA – Headquarters

Virginia Leary

Assistant to the Director of Finance and Administration

Virginia provides executive-level support to Holly Hueston, the director of finance and administration. In this role, Virginia also provides administrative support to the regional administrator and risk manager, assistant director of administration, and the director of human resources. She acts as the bridge between departments for day-to-day operations. She is an expert in using Excel spreadsheets for budgeting purposes, compiling, and updating insurance information, and project management.

Virginia came to Charlottesville for her husband’s job, and they love raising their children here.

“SELC’s culture inspires me to learn and grow every single day,” Virginia said. “I love that they work to preserve the environment of the places that are dearest to my heart.”

The foremost place is Lake Hartwell, a manmade reservoir on the border of South Carolina and Georgia. “Thanks to my parent’s good providence, my siblings and I grew up spending our summers there,” said Virginia, who spent her childhood in the Georgia cities of Athens and Locust Grove.

SELC’s focus on water quality inspires Virginia. “Knowing that we are fighting to hold polluters accountable makes me feel proud to be a part of SELC,” she said.
