Megan Kimball
Senior Attorney
Megan advocates for transportation and land use planning that are in line with our climate and equity goals. Her work includes safeguarding federal regulations implementing the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). At the beginning of her time at SELC, she fought to protect communities from water pollution caused by coal ash and hog waste.
Everyone deserves clean air and water, healthy places to work, live, and play, and the right to participate in government decision making that affects them.

Megan’s legal career has centered around advocating for historically underrepresented people and their environments. She interned at SELC as an undergraduate UNC journalism and mass communications major, and in law school at NYU, went on to litigation internships at Earthjustice and the Natural Resources Defense Council.
Before returning to SELC as an attorney, Megan served as agency attorney at the New York City Housing Authority, the country’s largest public housing agency, and ChangeLab Solutions, a public health nonprofit where she advocated for smoke-free air policies.
