Jamie Whitlock

Office:

Asheville, NC

Jamie Whitlock

Senior Attorney

Working from the Asheville SELC office, Jamie focuses on protecting North Carolina’s natural resources and those of the south as a whole. He brings more than 15 years of environmental litigation experience to his work, which includes Clean Water Act and other citizen suit litigation, as well as litigation related to pollution from toxic chemicals like PFAS.

“I work for SELC to protect the places I love and the places where I was raised,” he said. “We do this by holding polluters accountable so that future generations can also enjoy these amazing places.”

Jamie holds special affection for the mountains of western North Carolina, particularly Pisgah National Forest “because of its beauty and the wide variety of activities I can enjoy there,” he said, mentioning hiking, mountain biking, camping, and more. He also loves the South Carolina coast where he spent a lot of time during his childhood in the state’s nearby upstate region.
