Office:

Charlottesville, VA – Headquarters

Darah Palmer

Director of Human Resources

Darah leads the human resources team and initiatives in support of SELC’s culture and strategic plan. For any employees and supervisors with difficult situations, she provides a safe place to problem solve and navigate policies, benefits, and performance tools. Darah also ensures SELC complies with benefits, policies, pay procedures, and employment practices.

To SELC, Darah brings more than 20 years of human resources experience in organizations focused on natural foods manufacturing, management consulting, technology, and data science.

“I came for the SELC mission, but have found the people to be the true motivation to do the hard work,” she said. “SELC is the first nonprofit organization I have worked for and I am proud of our model of partnership and advocacy. I learn something new every day!”

A native of West Virginia, Darah vacationed with her family every summer on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and this remains a very special place to her in the SELC region. “So many great memories of sandy feet, salty hair, and sunburn,” she recalled. “Now that my kids are out of the house, I enjoy spending time there in the off season, after the crowds are gone.”
