Anders Reynolds

Federal Legislative Director

Anders has spent most of his career at the intersection of politics and environmental policy, working with The Pew Charitable Trusts on U.S. public land protection and as a legislative director for a Member of Congress. He’s also served in the Obama administration as federal policy analyst at the Delta Regional Authority, and has extensive federal and state campaign experience. As SELC’s federal legislative director, Anders builds and maintains working relationships with Members of Congress and their staffs, offering policy expertise and working with them to advance SELC’s conservation goals.

Anders tackles the unique conservation challenges faced in the Southeast by participating in resilient coalitions of diverse stakeholders, offering thoughtful legislative analysis, help in determining winning legislative strategies, and support in drafting legislation.

One of his favorite places in the region is the Cherokee National Forest in eastern Tennessee. While working on a successful campaign to designate new wilderness acreage in that forest, he came to understand the power that the landscape and its stewards have in advocating for themselves.
