Office:

Brittany Shaar

Associate Attorney

Brittany conducts research and assists in litigation related to water quality and coastal resilience. She advocates for policies and regulations that protect wildlife and natural spaces, and works with community groups to mitigate environmental injustices.

She is proud of SELC’s efforts to hold corporations accountable for pollution from per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). She is excited to work for an organization that advocates for state and federal policies that protect the public from these “forever chemicals.”

“Everyone should have the right to a healthy environment—including clean air, clean water, and a livable climate,” Brittany said. “I’m happy to be working with SELC to protect these rights for all people.”

Brittany joined the Atlanta office in 2022 after an SELC internship in 2021. She grew up outside of Atlanta and has enjoyed exploring the natural spaces in SELC’s six-state region, with fond memories of fall trips to the Blue Ridge Mountains in Georgia and North Carolina, and spring breaks spent on the South Carolina coast.
